Suncare & Vitamin D

A lot of conflicting information is coming out about sunlight.  Warnings of deficiencies of Vitamin D caused from lack of sunlight but then the Anti-cancer Council and others warn of skin cancers and aging and damage to the skin from exposure to direct sunlight.  How do we manage it?

My answer for a daily dose of Vitamin D is an early morning walk before breakfast without sunscreen before the sun's rays are too damaging, maybe even having breakfast outside without sunscreen if it is early.  Then apply the sunscreen for the day, every day, to any exposed areas.  A hat and long sleeves are also important to protect from the sun if you are out in the heat of the day.
